Waste Types

Simple description of what can go into your Local Bin.

As best as possible we encourage opur customers to separate their wastes into categories that allow us to efficiently recycle or dipose of materials.this chart will show just a few examples of what we mean.

Remember too, that our pricing is based on this "Waste Type Schedule", so please when ordering CHOOSE carefully.

What Can't Go In (a separate bin may be required)
“disposal facilities are very strict”
General Waste Most general household waste including boxes, wood, white goods, cabinets, carpet, clothes, toys, etc. NO Bricks, concrete, soil, green waste.
Heavy Waste Waste from household cleanups & renovations including bricks, concrete & general waste. NO Green waste
Green Waste Organic waste such as branches, grass clippings, woodchips and bark, wood, fence palings NO other types of waste allowed
Brick & Concrete Only concrete and bricks are allowed. NO other types of waste other than bricks, concrete and sand
Clean Fill Only dirt, soil & sand. MUST BE 100% CLEAN. NO OTHER TYPES OF WASTE
WHATSOEVER!
Scrap metals Only scrap metals are allowed when your bin is booked for scrap metal collection.
It is best to presort your scrap metals prior to ordering a bin as for some types of scrap,
we may pay be able to off er payment (subject to market in dices, location, volumes, types
of scrap etc)
Types of scrap we specialise in are, Steel, Stainless steel, aluminium, copper tube and wire, brass, batteries and radiators, etc
NO other types of waste allowed

NEVER TO BE PLACED IN SKIP BIN OF ANY KIND UNLESS ARRANGED PRIOR
Putrescible waste (food waste etc), asbestos, hazardous waste, insulation material of any kind, liquids such as paint, oil s, chemicals (dry paints in cans are okay), gas bottles, empty chemical containers, and tree trunks.


Other charges that will be incurred if a bin contains any of the following,

Mattress, bed bases $25 each.

E-Waste, E-Scrap (electrical and computer items) Charges per various items (Min charge $25.00 disposal and handling)

Paint or used oil $5 per litre
Tyres $10 and tyres with rims $20. Truck tyres $35 each
Refrigerators or Freezers (
degassing) $25 each

Asbestos $150 plus the bin will be returned to the customer to be decontaminated.

Cross-contamination of waste types $90.00 per tonne (min 1 tonne charge)
